After the Bayanihan Philippine National Dance Company was here, we asked our audience for comments and here is what they said:
•
Great show....pleasantly surprised!
Hope you can book more Jazz and Brdwy plays in future, too.

Thank you for the invitation to comment on the show we saw last night. My wife and I appreciated the heart demonstrated by the performers-they exhibited complete enthusiasm in their performance. We were not excited about the execution. The dances did not feel well choreographed or well performed. I don't know if they were severely hampered by being in a smaller stage than normal, but that seems like an obstacle which professionals can overcome. There were some problems with the sound, which I've experienced at The Englert in the past (GZA). When singing coincided with instrumentation, the vocals were drowned out(and of course there was a big feedback moment). We left at intermission, disappointed but in good spirits. We would not recommend this show to others in the future.
Thanks again for taking the time to listen to my thoughts, I look forward to the next performance for which I have tickets.
Sincerely, David

We thought the dancers were beautiful (my wife says the womens costumes were beautiful, but the mens were "dorky.") In any event, it was a fine performance, and the styles represented an excellent cross section of Philipine culture: Hispanic, SE Asian, Chinese, Japanese, etc. We would go to see them again.

They weren't as acrobatic as the promo material would suggest but overall they were entertaining.

Wonderful, beautiful show. The finale was like a fireworks display.

Frankly, I felt that I had been fooled. Perhaps if I had been warned that I would see a kind of folk circus I would not have been so turned off or I might not have gone to it. The performers were pretty but I did not think they were especially skilled nor, more importantly perhaps, guided well. At best what I saw was anthropology but even then I did not think that what I saw was authentic. If something good or worthwhile was shown after the intermission I was no longer there to see it

The PHILIPPINE DANCE COMPANY WAS ABSOLUTELY OUTSTANDING. THIS WAS ONE OF THE BEST THAT HANCHER HAS EVER DONE. I WISH THAT THEY WOULD COME AGAIN SO THAT MORE OF MY FRIENDS COULD SEE THEM.
THE DANCING, MUSIC, SINGING AND THE ENTIRE SERIES OF ACTS WAS SUPEB !!!!!!
THANKS.
