On May 9, 2010, Hancher presented the SPOT artist for this year, Michael Cooper and his Masked Marvels & Wondertales. We asked for audience comments:

I thought the show was fantastic. It was enjoyable for both kids and adults. I didn't see anyone walk out of there without a smile.
If you could make his show an annual event, I would take my kids to it every year.
Great job on scheduling this great performer!

I loved the show! It's obvious that Michael loves what he's doing and that the audience loves it, too. My boys are 15, so the show was a little off target for them, but they did enjoy the creativity and humor that Michael brings to the stage. I could see that the younger children were really having a good time. I love the way Michael engages the audience from beginning to end. I especially love that he invited questions and showed the kids his "secrets" at the end of the show.
Even if he hadn't invited audience participation, I would have loved the show. Michael's movements and demeanor are very engaging. Bringing the kids into the middle of it was just icing on the cake. His discussion of how he makes his masks and costumes was wonderful. His invitation to pursue a career in performance was excellent! It's sad to see artistic creativity end for so many when they leave elementary and high school. Whether or not they make a career of it, music, art and creativity (made with your own two hands) should remain an important part of a happy life.
Thanks for the show (and at a price that we can afford) :)
